The solution is to go in the Twonky Settings > Advanced > Media receivers and RESET LIST. But you may if you go to a PC/Mac and this does allow the same Music (or vice-versa) you will probably also using Twonkymedia. TWONKY ISSUES Twonky Media music greyed out or will not play If you are looking at the Music and the Music cannot be added to the Playlist or is grayed out. You need to buy a licence and update from Twonky Downloads V8.4 (QNAPx86_64) Now I see that the NAS is accessible through Finder as well and I can just drag and drop without using DSM at all.Note: TwonkyMedia is not supported by QNAP on QNAP firmware QTS4.3 and later. I did use the Finder to grab my music folder on my MacBook, but then tried to drop it into the DSM File Station window. I genuinely was not trying to be thickheaded or stubborn. In this area, the only difference between someone over their heads vs an expert, is that the expert read the instructions The MinimServer "instruction manual" on its website also includes details on how to get MinimServer pointing at the right folder in case you get stuck. The Help section on DSM will tell you everything you need to know on creating a shared folder. When you create the new shared folder on your 414, you need to have set the correct attributes for the folder. As you now have 2 versions of MinimServer running, you should have 2 instances of MinimWatch appear at the top of you Mac. If using the latter, just make sure you pick the 414 and not your Macbook. You can then point MinimServer to the correct file location either from direct web browser access to MinimServer on the 414 (via Package Centre, which will show the URL for MinimServer), or via MinimWatch. It is also possible to do this via uploading within DSM, but you will find this more complicated. Once you have done this, use Finder on your Mac to cut (or just copy if you are leaving them on your Mac) and paste the music files into the new Music folder you have created on the 414. You need to create a Music (or whatever you want to call it) shared folder on the 414, using DSM as you currently access it through a web browser (there is no "computer download" version). Perhaps it's relevant to note that I am trying to do this all through the web browser "DiskStation" and have not downloaded any kind of Disk Station Manager onto my computer yet. I know I need to create a "content directory" for Minimserver to be pointed toward, but I am not sure how and where to create the folder. I installed Minimwatch on my MacBook, and my understanding is, it's Minimwatch that will allow me to configure the NAS attached to my network. No clue how to get the music over to a proper music folder, and then to have Minimserver index the music there. Minimserver installed successfully, but I pathetically am stuck there. Yesterday I did the initial set up and connected a Synology DS414 NAS to my network. I recently started using an Auralic Aries, with Minimserver and my music library running on my MacBook Pro. I usually begin my posts by prefacing with something to the effect of "I am that guy who is usually in over his head"! So you've been warned.
